1. ST:DS9 Bashir-I like Dr. Bashir, pre-ganglionic nerves and all. I identify with him a fair amount, as he is a nerd and a LARPer(what is the holosuite, but a giant LARP) who has bad luck with women.
2. Buffy: TVS Anya-I am a big fan of Anya, in that I love the way she phrases things and states things utterly inappropriately.
3. Angel Fred- I love Fred partially because I have a deep and abiding love of geek girls and partially because I think the character arc in season 5 is totally awesome.
4. Firefly Book-Book has the most complicated set of relationships in the crew. He has a link with everyone, but never quite what you expect. I think Serenity shows it best, when Book comes to Inara's shuttle twice, once to be nice, and once for absolution. I can't wait to learn more about him.
5. Red Dwarf Lister- my relationship with Lister is similar to

6. Dr. Who Ace- and not just because she's played by an actress with my last name. She is a female version of who I wanted to be back then, backpack and all.
7. Babylon 5 Vir- sic transit vir, thus passes the man. Vir is a character that I love for his moral sense and his timidity. It comes down to identification once again, as I feel sometimes too timid for my own good.
8. Tenkuu no Escaflowne Dryden(or doraidemu/drydem as it is in Japanese)- is the ultimate dilletante scholar, travelling the world and dispensing knowledge.
9. ST: Voyager Harry Kim-I like Kim the way I like Peter Parker, and also because he's in the lousiest position ever. He's an ensign in a situation where promotion is impossible. He may as well give up because it's dead man's unitard, but he doesn't. Which makes the one episode where he becomes captain totally awesome
10. Ken Burns' Civil War Shelby Foote- while watching the Civil War, I always loved when Foote would show up with his accent and everything, because he had the awesome anecdotes.
