I dumped FB over the privacy issue. Not just the changes to the privacy standards, but when it became clear that even the CEO didn't understand what the hell the new standards meant.

I don't know how much the meme caused it, as much as it possibly irritated it. Even pre-meme, there was a lot of wiki vandalism on UD. There's always going to be a lot of graffiti on a wiki, to a different degree of 'always.'
