The New Year

Well well well. Here we are again. It's twenty o'four and I'm here still. I've made it through a week now on Atkins, it's hard, I crave sugar a lot but I already feel high energy and like I'm starting to burn a bit of fat, and with the increased exercise of the semester it should only get better. I am sick of being overweight and am finally doing something about it.

Sugar is rediculously addictive. I keep meaning to kick my habit as soon as I kick caffiene.

Dosen't mean I'll ever go near the Atkins cult with a 10 foot pole.

I am glad it's working for you, though.

No! Not Atkins!

Think of the sour worms man! Without us, who will eat them? If no one eats them, how will they survive to be enjoyed by the next generation?

I instead sacrifice them to my dark god. It's convenient and more vegetarian friendly than sacrificing actual creatures.

i have heard alot of my friends mention the diet, but never paid much attention to it...what exactly does it entail?

atkins involves cutting out most carbohydrates in order to convince your body it needs to burn fat for energy. It generally involves a lot of meat, but since I am a vegetarian, it involves a lot of fish(which I eat some of, due to my reasons for vegetarianism), eggs and cheese with veggies and stuff tossed into the mix.

I could be imagining things, but doesn't the atkins diet require you to eat meat? Or are you uber-determined and eating only dairy and fruits & vegies?

Uber-determined, though I do eat fish.

30 lbs and counting...

The best way i found to resist sugar is to tell my body to burn the reserves it already has before we take more in. mostly works, but then again i have never been a huge sugar junie as well.
Losing the Pasta, Bread, and Rice is what helped me the most. and daily CV exercise for 1/2 hour at least.
Cheese and Veggies!

I walk at least an hour most days back and forth to work. It's a decent exercise overall. And it's those grains that trip me up the most. I think when I stop atkinsing, I'll probably just try to abandon most of my sugar intake, but bring back the grains.
