y'know, I don't know if people realize, but the gulf of Tonkin incident(aka the event that cause congress to send "advisors" into vietnam) was entirely false and staged. Yet another war founded on false intelligence.

Just to be irreverant...

Finding Kennedy-Lincoln parallels has been common for ages, but how many have looked for Kennedy-Bush administration similarities?

Both from extremely priveleged backgrounds.
One a cokehead, another a speed freak. (JFK's doctor's statement)
Both inherited military involvements that they made oh so very much worse.
Both had shiftyness in their elections. (theft in court/legislature versus mafia vote-intimidation through the Teamsters)
Both with the Texas Oil connection (LBJ, but c'mon)
Both with corporate ties in the administration that benefited from war (Ladybird was a major stockholder in Colt)
Both using the space program to distract from domestic issues (clearly a copycat of Reagan's mimicking of JFK on Bush's part)

Naturally, the former (being Democratic and deceased) seems to have much more in his favor, but I can't help but wonder how we'd few such a gentleman today...

Stirrin' that shite up.
