My plan is to undergo a period of retuning in which I return my body to the use of carbs as a primary fuel. After that period I intend to be far more careful with the glycemic indices of the food I eat and to consume far fewer empty calories. My hope is to enact lasting change.
My big problem that Atkins has helped is that I was too fat to exercise properly. I could not do anything in terms of jogging or anything without risking future use of my knees. Now that I am at a reasonable weight and with the weather warming up, I can exercise again. I stick with the belief that dietary changes in the long run and regular exercise can overcome the shortcomings of Atkins.
