Y'know, one of the hardest lines to deliver in theater is the line "life is but a walking shadow, a poor player who struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more."
It feels so auto-critical that I worry it might be true during performance. That I might be said to be strutting and fretting my hour upon the stage.

"It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing"

I've read analyses that have said that this speech was Shakespeare being hypercritical about himself, his plays, and their lasting effect on the world around him.

So at least you're in good company!

*nod* yup!
Besides, Ben, you were definitely on the stage for more than an hour. ^_^
*hug*

I fully believe that, and I think that to some degree that insecurity goes through the centuries to every performer.
