senses and memories
Mar. 4th, 2003 10:04 amThe sound of train whistles always brings me back to summers going south on amtrak to North Carolina, sleeping on those weird foam pillows.
the smell of cinnamon doughnuts reminds me of going to see phantom of the Opera when I was 14. It smelled like that for no apparent reason.
Inflatable chairs always remind me of the time I ran away from home at age 5, all the way to the tree across the street. I brought my inflatable he-man chair with me and I always remember it.
the feel of velvet reminds me of the antique couch that my dad used to have in his apartment in Philadelphia. I remember hiding under the couch the only time I remember him losing his temper.
the song "wonderful tonight" always reminds me of the high school dance where I danced with Jenny Coates. I had a huge crush on her then, and actually until just recently had a rejection letter from her, until I realized that there was no reason for me to still have rejection letters.
