I am now the proud owner, thanks to dyrecorn, of two Ani Difranco tickets. I now have one month and two days to find a date to the concert. The quest begins...

totems

I have been very secretive about my totemic associations for a long while. It took a long time for me to trust people enough to tell them my totem. I don't really know why, but that's the way it was. I suppose I have worried that I would be revealing too much, but I have decided that I can reveal my associations now without worry. I am associated with the deer, the young stag. I am not a predator, but I am not helpless prey. I am not a trickster, but I do not lead in a straightforward manner either. I shed my antlers when necessary, and grow new ones. I shed them recently, and am hoping to grow a new pair soon.

postcards and fame

I am the proud owner of a whole bunch of postcards. I also have a fair number of postcard stamps. The problem I have is that I don't have anyone I can send 80 postcards to, writing witty and urbane things that will go down in history. I hope one day to have a collection of my postcards as some sort of odd collection from an odd famous person. If anyone has any suggestions for people to whom I can send postcards, I'd be happy for it.
Speaking of fame, I noticed that in the deadly sins quiz, most people said that they'd rather be rich than famous. Not me. I'd like fame. I'd like to say something and have people stop and listen and think about it. I'm not even necessarily interested in Ben Affleck fame or Bono fame. I'd love Leonard Peltier fame or Al Sharpton fame. I'd like to be a Ralph Nader or even a Ray Suarez or a Terry Gross. It's not the money, it's the voice.
