"We choose to go to the moon, not because it is easy but because it is hard." JFK in the early 60's.
What the hell happened to the rhetoric of this country. I mean, back in the 60's there was this attitude that if something is worth it, then it's worth hard work and sacrifice. Now, people vote for people who remove taxes. Neither candidate last election presented anything that was about doing anything. It's just a matter of sit around and react. Lyndon Johnson declared war on poverty. It doesn't matter that he failed, it matters that he did. While it's that kind of doing that got us into Vietnam, it's also that kind of doing that fueled the civil rights movement and put a man on the moon. We need some good work ethic in this country. Some rhetoric of hard work.
