If you look west from the Irish Lion

Down Kirkwood, there is a large house on the south side of the street. It is big and weird looking and according to the monroe county historical society is called "the batman house". This is because it was owned by Judge Ira Batman, a prominent Bloomington Citizen around the turn of the 20th century.
