The worst part of writing a dissertation is the worry that because your ideas are so familiar to you, that they are just too ridiculously obvious to point out.
Did Michel Foucault think to himself, 'oh, everyone already knows that madness is a social construct, I don't need to point it out'?
It's a weird kind of existential angst.
