So, first off, I want to thank everyone for their good wishes and sympathy. It's a tough time and it's nice to have people around me who are supportive.
I know I'm gonna get through this, I know that everyone is going to get through this as much as possible, even my stepmother, though with different definitions of getting through this. A big part of life is merely dealing with what comes up with as much grace as you can manage and I think my family will get through this.
I suppose the big issue is moving. It changes my goals. I had hoped to get the gender studies position at UIC, but my big hope is now the position in Harrisburg. My efforts to establish a community in Chicago is somewhat wasted, because I won't have access to those folks.
But I'm a bright side person. There are nice things about moving to Philly. I'll be able to see my East coast peeps. I know people in Philadelphia. I can get involved with Philadelphia Yearly Meeting. I can share in my dad's season tickets to the Phillies. It's just frustrating having plans uprooted. eh. Man Plans, God Laughs.
