Round 2

alright, Round 2 of the mix challenge is now opening. The rules are the same, only this round is limited to 5 slots, one of which is already full. If you already have a mix listed, you can come get it any time, but please refrain from requesting another for now. There will come a time when I will open it up to second mixes, but not quite yet.

I will make you a mix CD, under the following conditions.
1. you provide for the transportation to you. I am able to easily make the CD and provide the materials, but if you live out of town, a few postage bucks(or patience until the next time I see you) would be nice
2. you give me a thematic unity with which to build the CD, leave it in a comment or send it in an e-mail.
3. you tell me what you DON'T like in terms of music. I have an eclectic collection so if you hate classical or hip hop, country or folk, rock or jazz then let me know.

my current queue is
kendokamel-theme pending
dragon212k-theme pending
sapphohestia-"anna begins"
edg-"Thalidomide eh? so you're saying the eggplant had an accomplice."
sarcastibitch-comedy
ninja_turbo-geekiness
tooth_and_claw-dreams and nightmares

Next round will begin a while later, have themes ready.

Sure, why not?

I don't really go for country, rap, or hip-hop. As for a theme... let's go with:

"Thalidomide, eh? So you're saying the eggplant has an accomplice?"

Take that as you will. ;)

Let me know what postage is, and I'll send it your way.

(This seems like fun. Do you mind if I borrow the meme?)

[identity profile] drydem.livejournal.com 2005-04-13 09:38 am (UTC)(link)
I don't mind the borrowing, and I look forward to figuring out a way to work goats into the whole thing.

And I think I have a decent sense of your musical tastes, at least what they were a while back.

[identity profile] edg.livejournal.com 2005-04-13 10:42 am (UTC)(link)
Glad to hear it. :)

I thought you might. ;) Just wanted to make sure.

[identity profile] drydem.livejournal.com 2005-04-13 03:50 pm (UTC)(link)
to let you know my interpretation of this, it will be the "Fall of 1998" mix Also known as "The Decline and Fall of 1998" -or- "Less of a murderer, more of a sandwich"

[identity profile] edg.livejournal.com 2005-04-13 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee hee. Sounds good to me! :)

[identity profile] sarcastibich.livejournal.com 2005-04-13 09:37 am (UTC)(link)
Theme: Comedy

I don't particularly care for country music or hard core rap. Some hiphop and rap is okay, just use your best judgement.

[identity profile] sapphohestia.livejournal.com 2005-04-13 09:39 am (UTC)(link)
you think it's do-able?

[identity profile] drydem.livejournal.com 2005-04-13 09:40 am (UTC)(link)
I can work with the thematics of the song.

[identity profile] ninja-turbo.livejournal.com 2005-04-13 10:05 am (UTC)(link)
I'd love to hear your take on "Geeks/Geekiness/Geekdom" as a mix. Something to help me write my novel.

As for "must not do" styles of music, I'm not a fan of most heavy metal, most country (save Johnny Cash), and "I got money, I got hos!" gangsta rap. Most everything else is cool.

[identity profile] fallenrose.livejournal.com 2005-04-13 10:34 am (UTC)(link)
I want one. ^_^ But I have no idea for a theme.
I just don't like rap or (like ninja_turbo) country with the sometimes exception of Johnny Cash, who is ok by me.

[identity profile] drydem.livejournal.com 2005-04-13 10:35 am (UTC)(link)
well, come up with a theme and you have a slot.

[identity profile] tooth-and-claw.livejournal.com 2005-04-13 01:31 pm (UTC)(link)
if she doesn't get a theme, I'll take the next slot with "Dreams and Nightmares." And if that's been taken, Divine Inspiration.

[identity profile] sarcastibich.livejournal.com 2005-04-13 11:03 am (UTC)(link)
By the way, this is pretty freaking cool and I approve of it as an artistic expression and I'm looking forward to new music because I crave stuff.

In short, thanks for tossing this offer out.

[identity profile] gollumgollum.livejournal.com 2005-04-13 11:16 am (UTC)(link)
i've already got one, and so caveat: i'm not trying to be rude and claim another for myself.

but i was thinking about this today, and i'd be interested in seeing what you could come up with on the theme of 'bloomington' with the audience of, well, 'bloomington' (or at least your social/peer groups within). and then give that out as a mass distributed cd (maybe asking for a blank cd or mix in trade).

OR, maybe cooler, have everyone do 'bloomington' and organize a big swap.

this has been so much fun!1

[identity profile] drydem.livejournal.com 2005-04-13 11:20 am (UTC)(link)
I think I'll organize the latter in round 3, if you're alright with that.

[identity profile] gollumgollum.livejournal.com 2005-04-13 01:36 pm (UTC)(link)
badass. i can't wait!1 i'll get to cracking on mine. (:

thanks

incase it was not said earlier...

THANKS!

I am SO looking forward to my cd.

I have the Gummy Bears theme!
And you can call me Al!

If there's still a slot open (I can't tell if the "five new slots" bit starts with edg or not), then I'd like one themed around twilight. I dislike country and gospel.

[identity profile] drydem.livejournal.com 2005-04-13 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll get you next round.

::confused & sad::

Am I not in the queue?

your mix is already complete. It should be listed in a prior entry.
