drydema friend of mine from back in the day got in touch with me and asked what I've been up to for the last while. So I ended up writing a timeline. It's odd.
June 1995-graduated highschool, with the intention of attending Muhlenburg(small world) and traveling to Europe during my year off.
July 1995-started working at arcade and hanging out with Chris Henderson
August 1995-made plans with Chris to take a road trip across the country.
October 1995- took short trip out to Indiana to try out the road trip waters, visited Earlham college, had a minor cosmic revelation and reapplied to Earlham(got accepted)
October 1995-April 1996- worked at arcade to earn money, wasted time and so forth
May 1996- July 1996- Chris Henderson and I travel across the country, going south to Florida, west to LA, North to Olympia and then east across the midwest through Canada for FGC, despite the craziness of spending 2 full months in constant company of Chris, things were quite enjoyable.
September 1996-started at Earlham
October 1996-fell in love with Becki Larson(will figure prominently for a while)
December 1996-got engaged(overall not the best decision I'd made but I don't really regret it either)
March 1997-got involved in a Live-Action role playing game(LARP) run by Sumner(will figure prominently)
May 1997-finished first year at Earlham, returned to my dad's house w/ Becki(a bad decision in retrospect)
May 1997-August 1997- lived and worked in Glen Mills, PA dealing with the issues of my step-mother and fiance not getting along...at all.
September 1997-returned to Earlham for second year(some notes on my earlham experience overall, did a lot of theater, a lot of gaming, a few drugs and made a lot of friends)
early March 1998- broke up with Becki after she cheated on me.
late March 1998- got back together with Becki
May 1998- finished second year of Earlham. moved to Wallingford, CT and lived with Becki's Mom(not a great decision, didn't trust my instincts).
June 1998- broke up with Becki again and moved home for remainder of summer
September 1998-returned to Earlham for third year(ran my first LARP)
May 1999-moved to Chicago to live with Sumner for the summer
May 1999-August 1999-worked as a music teacher at a camp outside chicago(learned to play the mandolin and fell in love with chicago)
September 1999- returned to Earlham for senior year(ran my second LARP)
January 2000- wrote, directed and produced a play at Earlham(one of my current projects is a rewrite of this play)
March 2000-applied to IU bloomington for History program(not accepted because my GRE scores never arrived)
May 2000- graduated from Earlham with a B.A. in History and Sociology/Anthropology
May 2000-August 2000- lived as a hermit at Sumner's farm in the middle of nowhere in Illinois(interesting experience, 30 minutes from everything)
August 2000-returned to Richmond, IN(home of Earlham) because I had nowhere better to go. worked for 4 months as a cook at a vegetarian co-op, self-published cookbook
January 2001- May 2001-lived unemployed in Richmond while applying to grad schools for folklore
March 2001- got accepted to IU bloomington for folklore(had to drive out and give them my GRE scores by hand)
May 2001-moved to Bloomington, got involved in a changeling LARP.
July 2001-Cat Buckley moves in with me(one bedroom apartment, it was tight but nice overall)
August 2001-start grad school
December 2001- begin to get involved much deeper in the LARP community in Bloomington
February 2002-Cat moves out
May 2002-move in with Jenny(friend from Earlham) and Kate(new girlfriend).
September 2002- Jenny moves out
October 2002- Colin(friend from Earlham) moves in
December 2002- break up with Kate(we still live together, seperate rooms of course)
Present- am running LARPs, writing plays, working on my M.A. thesis, working for the MLA indexing journal articles and doing shakespeare in the park.
