I saw a baby bird today that had fallen out of it's nest. it had no feathers and its eyes were still closed. It was struggling on the ground and I could do nothing to help it. I could do nothing but watch it and hope something would come and eat it or put it out of its misery. I felt so helpless and pitiful. I don't know why but I feel bad that I couldn't kill it. I suppose I should be glad that I am not callous but I feel lousy.
