"My thought is that the matrix could be(I won't make pronouncements until at least December) a story about lost balance. The Oracle laid things out so that Morpheus would find Neo, by telling Morpheus he would find the one. The Oracle laid things out so that Neo would be tied to Trinity and thus potentially have to make a choice. The oracle made things so that Neo was the one to make the choice to reset the matrix. What if the oracles plan is one of self-destruction? What if she is deliberately setting things up to bring about the destruction of the matrix? What if she is a failsafe program designed to do exactly that? "
I feel like I called it pretty well in some ways. I think that Neo was a pawn of the Oracle, in order to balance the equation by purging the matrix. I think it boils down to her presence at the end of the battle.
