2003 ended in excruciating pain. for the last 50 minutes of the year I had a blinding nauseating headache that resisted all attempts to relieve it. Then miraculously at 11:59 pm, it disappeared, just in time to enjoy the fireworks display on the Delaware river in Philadelphia. Vaguely appropriate the year ending in pain, I hope that the relief of 2004 is an omen in general.
