Fresh Mozzarella, Aka Bocconcino, Buffalo Mozzarella, heaven in a milky sphereoid

Ahi Tuna, seared

I love a good pear

When, if ever, did you start liking olives?
Just recently, though I am still very picky about them

When, if ever, did you start liking beer?
about four years ago, now I am a connosieur

When, if ever, did you start liking shellfish?
still not my favorite thing.

What was the best thing your mum/dad/guardian used to make?
My Step-Dad made Baked beans from scratch. I have the recipe, next fall I will have a baked beans and brown bread party.

What's the native specialty of your home town?
The Philadelphia Cheesesteak, my last meal eating meat

Fresh Mozzarella

Lindor Balls are delicious

I cook them with balsamic vinegar, green onions and shaved parmasean

A fresh Belgian Waffle with fresh raspberries and real whipped cream atop. With fresh squeezed pink grapefruit juice. Simple yet delicious

What's your ideal sandwich?
A baguette with fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, tomatoes, boston lettuce and balsamic vinegar

What's your ideal pizza (topping and base)?
Chicago style with onions from Gino's East or
real New York style with cheese

What's your ideal pie (sweet or savory)?
Pumpkin, always loved it, always will that, or real key lime pie.

What's your ideal salad?
Butter and leaf lettuces, chopped orange peppers, grape tomatoes, chunks of parmasean with a homemade balsamic vinaigrette or
a real caesar salad with homemade croutons
If I'm buying it's the spinach salad at the Earwax cafe on Milwakee right southeast of damen

a selection of fine cheeses

What food do you always like to have in the freezer?
homemade pesto, it freezes so well so I make huge batches

What food do you always like to have in the cupboard?
canned tomatoes, onions

What spices can you not live without?
basil, oregano, garlic, rosemary, multicolored pepper, sea salt

What sauces can you not live without?
balsamic vinegar and marinara are my staples

Where do you buy most of your food?
Marsh/Bloomingfoods/Kroger(less and less)

How often do you go food shopping?
once a week or so

What's the most you've spent on a single food item?
does liquor count? cause I've bought scotch. if not, I can't think of it. Most expensive foodstuffs I've used have arrived through shoplifting(an old habit from teen years)

What's the most expensive piece of kitchen equipment you own (excluding 'white goods')?
knives, I own some high quality knives

What's the last piece of equipment you bought for your kitchen?
a new cutting board. I've got pretty much everything I need except a good cuisinart

What piece of kitchen equipment could you not live without?
my dollar store serated knife, it's the best knife I've ever used

How many times a week/month do you cook from raw ingredients?
on atkins, almost never. off atkins, when I'm cooking for others.

What's the last thing you cooked from raw ingredients?
huevos balsamicos

What meats have you eaten besides cow, pig and poultry?
none. I stopped eating meat 12 years ago

a while ago

What's the last time you ate something you'd picked in the wild?
last summer, raspberries

Wow. I've never really been around people who cook or know anything about food. At home we have like 10 places that "the family" goes to occasionally, and aside from that, it was frozen food all the way. Then in college, I live off of meal points...goody, cafeteria food :P
