Oct. 15th, 2008 12:11 pmWhy can't the media cover the goddamn Phillies. I'm constantly pissed about how the media pretty much ignores Philadelphia. The coverage for the past few months has been.
1. The Mets may win...unless Philadelphia STAYS in first place.
2. The Brewers may win...unless Philadelphia beats them 3-1
3. The Dodgers, oh god, the dodgers!...except that Philadelphia has pulled ahead 3-1.
I have nothing against the fans of these teams. Indeed I count fans of two of these teams among my friends. But goddamnit, why can't the story be about the damn Phillies.
Of course, in the time between when I started writing this and now, MLB.com has added a story on the Phillies to its lead stories on the other 3 remaining teams in the postseason, but this is an endemic problem.
