The best thing about Shaun of the Dead is that it is easy to trace it's origins to a conversation. I imagine two english guys sitting at a pub. One says, "hey, y'know a pub would be a great place to survive a zombie attack. The doors are secure, there's snacks, you can play the jukebox while you wait."
