Whenever my family goes out for dimsum in Chinatown, we use our leftover tea leaves to divine... but it's more fun than anything else. I wonder if it'd work with coffee grounds...?

It does, actually. Many folks in the Middle-East use coffee grounds instead of tea leaves. (I actually managed to find a cute little end-table book that offers some hints and meanings and such, if you'd like to see it some time.)
