I am a poet. Not many people know this, mostly because my poetry is not poetry in any normal sense of the word. All my poetry is in personal, face-to-face communication. In direct contact, full of body language and nuanced sound, I can be poetic. However, without that contact, so much is lost. I lose my ability to be poetic without the ability to see my audience. I get nervous and lose the zen calm that is my poetic ability. It's frustrating, because I know that when I have access to nuance, I can do so much more, but when I am limited, I worry my message is being lost in letters.
