angst

So, it may seem from my journal that my life is pure angst right now. I know if I looked at my journal as the only source on my life, I would think that. It's wrong. There is some angst, but that is dissipating, bit by bit. I am currently rather busy with schoolwork and such, as I have a lot of things to get done soon, including encyclopedia articles, exam reading, final papers, and dissertation proposals. But I'm not stressing, as I know that's useless to me. I'm just getting work done.
I've consumed lots of media recently, I'm looking forward to Spring, especially my month of England. I'm getting lots done creatively. I'm busy trying to acquire Bugs Bunny cartoons from bittorrent for my class. All in all, my life isn't just angst. So y'all know.

LJ often makes people's lives seem more angsty than they are, because not all that many people make random posts saying "I'm happy!" It's more "OMGIhatemylifeeverythingsucksandIwanttodie." To put it less flippantly, people are more likely to post when they're down than when they're up, because when they're up, they often have better things to do than post to LJ. In general, if LJ makes some's angst quotient seem like an 8.5, it's probably more like 6.5-7.

Arguibly, I'd say that it ratchets up the drama factor of everything, so that even a minor and altogether too human sort of depression winds up looking like you're about to go to the clocktower, the same way a minor comment on things going well makes people think you're on a 24 buzz.

*shrug* I know we post usually mostly bad stuff - usually that's what we want to work through.

Ya know what? I think the word "usually" looks very alien to me right now.

When are you going to England? And why aren't you planning a side trip to Switzerland while you're in Europe, especially since you have a free place to stay here?
